The conference's three keynote speakers come from diverse professional backgrounds. We have an international expert in neuroscience and developmental psychology addressing the question of whether to acknowledge addiction as a disease.
From the world of public health we have an Officer of the Order of Australia who has had a distinguished career in preventative health advocacy and will talk about gambling as a public health issue.
Our third keynote is a former premier of New South Wales who, this year, released a report on illegal offshore wagering which delivered nineteen recommendations to the commonwealth government, eighteen of which were supported. His address will focus on the findings of that review, what we can learn from it and ways forward for the sector.
