Samantha Thomas is Associate Professor of Public Health at Deakin University. Samantha is most well known for her research on the impact of gambling industry tactics on gambling harm, with a particular focus on young men and children. Samantha leads a number of research projects funded by the Australian Research Council and the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation on sports betting; gambling industry tactics; gambling stigma; and the factors contributing to the normalisation of gambling products. She also provides gambling harm prevention education to professional sporting clubs. Samantha’s research is regularly featured in the media, including ABC Four Corners; Lateline; and The Project.
